Clay Play!

After school ceramic classes

Muddy Crow brings ceramic programming to Seattle area elementary and middle schools. These classes take place onsite, immediately after the school day ends.

Clay Play classes introduce students to the basics of hand-building with clay in a joyful and creative environment. Students will learn techniques such as pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction while creating their own unique projects each week. Throughout the class, the kids will explore texture, form, representation, and color as they bring their ideas to life. All functional ware (cups, plates, bowls) will be food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.

  • "We took a beginner class with Bryn and it was such a lovely experience. It was the perfect amount of time to learn some new skills and also get to play around on the wheel. Bryn was incredibly helpful and had such a positive attitude. The whole evening had such a comfortable and enjoyable milieu. I definitely hope to return to more classes."

  • "I had the best time in your class! I loved all the challenges you gave us. It got me out of my comfort zone and I was always surprised at what I could accomplish! Thank you for always being so kind and patient!!"

  • "I took a BYOB Friday wheel throwing class. The instructor [Bryn] was very knowledgeable and encouraged class interaction. The class itself was so much fun and you get to work with as much clay as you want if you mess up and also get to keep two things you create which they glaze for you! You get to learn how to center, open and pull the clay and create a mug/bowl/even a plate! Even if you are more experienced, the class is still a great one as you get so much open-ended time and opportunity to explore and build on your own :)"

    —Iris F, Former Student

  • "I just finished an 8-week wheel class with Bryn and Tess and I could not be happier to have done that!! They were incredible instructors, I learned so much, and I felt so supported (and challenged) the entire time. The entire community at Gather was wonderful and I am so excited to have found a new love for pottery!"

    —Sydney Reynolds, Former Student
